Single molecules observed by immersion mirror objective. A novel method of finding the orientation of a radiating dipole

A novel method for determining the angular orientation of the transition dipole moment of single emitting molecules is presented. It is based on the analysis of light intensity distribution in the image space of the mirror objective.
