Description
Summary:The chromatographic properties of macroporous methacrylate copolymers containing sulphopropyl groups in the H +, Li +, Na +, K +, Rb +, Cs + and Ag + forms were investigated. The retention values on the individual sorbents were determined and the Kováts retention indices were calculated using a number of apliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons, alcohols and ethers. By assuming additivity, mathematical analysis of the particular factors operative in the solute—sorbent interactions was performed. The contribution of the formation of hydrogen bonds is of importance. The chromatograms indicate the possibility of separating mixtures of saturated and unsaturated hydrocarbons, alcohols, etc.
