Thin-layer chromatography in the study of ester sulphates

Thin-layer chromatography on silica gel has been applied to the separation of sulphate esters of alkyl, aryl and steroid hydroxy compounds from each other and from their parent unsulphated compounds. The value of this technique in studies on the biochemistry of sulphate esters is discussed.
