Summary:Single crystals of Y-123-type doped with Zn were grown. The structure and optical properties were investigated in order to study the doping mechanism. It was determined that Zn atoms enter Cu(2) or Cu(2) and Cu(1) sites depending on the growth regime. The superstructure in the Zn-doped Y-123-type single crystals was observed due to the ordering of Zn atoms in the crystal lattice.
