The infrared and Raman spectra of bis(trifluoromethyl)-peroxide
The gas phase infrared spectrum as well as the liquid phase Raman data ofbis(trifluoromethyl)-peroxide are reported from 33 cm −1 to 3000 cm −1 and from 200 cm −1 to 1400 cm −1, respectively. −1, and the barrier to internal rotation is calculated to be 5.4 kcal/mole. The O-O torsional mode is also observed, but due to a lack of data only a very rough estimate may be given for the cis barrier, 16 ± 6 kcal/mole. |
