Compressibility isotherms of argon at temperatures between −25°C and −155°C, and at densities up to 640 amagat (pressures up to 1050 atmospheres)

Compressibility isotherms of argon at temperatures from −25°C down to −155°C and for densities up to 640 amagat were measured. The results, corrected for gravitational effects, are presented. The position of the coexistence boundary line and of the critical point is derived. The experimental second...

Description
Summary:Compressibility isotherms of argon at temperatures from −25°C down to −155°C and for densities up to 640 amagat were measured. The results, corrected for gravitational effects, are presented. The position of the coexistence boundary line and of the critical point is derived. The experimental second virial coefficients are compared with the theoretical values of the Leonard Jones 6–12 potential.
