Lithium and sodium fullerides prepared in liquid ammonia

Lithium and sodium fullerides are the least well characterized of the alkali fullerides. We report the liquid ammonia synthesis and structural characterization of Na 2C 60(NH 3) 8, which contains a rhombohedral C 60 stacking not previously reported in simple fullerides. We also describe A x C 60 (A...

Description
Summary:Lithium and sodium fullerides are the least well characterized of the alkali fullerides. We report the liquid ammonia synthesis and structural characterization of Na 2C 60(NH 3) 8, which contains a rhombohedral C 60 stacking not previously reported in simple fullerides. We also describe A x C 60 (A = Li or Na, x = 2 and 3) samples prepared by the desorption of ammonia from corresponding ammoniated fullerides.
