Curie temperatures for a two-component ising ferromagnetic superlattice

Summary: | We consider magnetic superlattices in which the elementary unit cell is made up of
m atomic layers of type A and
n layers of type B. Recurrence relations are solved to give compact equations for the Curie temperature of phase transitions for both finite and infinite structures. The effect of the surface constants on the phase transition is investigated. Numerical results are obtained for the dependence of the Curie temperature on the bulk as well as the surface exchanges for typical superlattices. The critical curves for the onset of surface transition are also obtained. |
