Synthesis, crystal structure and anti-malarial activity of novel spiro-1,2,4,5-tetraoxacycloalkanes
(Cycloalkylidene)bishydroperoxides 3 react with 1,n-dihaloalkanes (n = 3–6) in the presence of CsOHH 2O in DMF affording the corresponding spiro-1,2,4,5-tetraoxacycloalkanes 4 in moderate yields. Compound 4ba exhibits significant antimalarial activity in vitro against P. falciparum. Graphic
