Summary: | On the basis of deviation theory of a random function a model has been developed for determining the parameters of acoustic emission (AE) accompanying contact friction of solids. The relationships are formulated for calculations of amplitude distribution, its parameters, and count rate of acoustic emission pulses. General characteristics of materials composing the friction pair were determined as well as the parameters of random functions describing the asperity of the surfaces which affect information parameters of AE. The model presented adequately describes the principal behaviour of acoustic emission display in tribology experiments and may constitute a methodical basis for development of acoustic approaches in monitoring and diagnostics of rubbing units in machines and gears. |
