Summary:The paper deals with the general approach to multi-criteria decision analysis on electric power system (EPS) expansion which is a combination of several multi-criteria analysis techniques in terms of different preference relations in the analysis of decision. The given approach is based on the fundamental concepts of the utility theory and development of concrete multi-criteria analysis techniques. The approach is illustrated on the concrete example of expansion of the Unified Electric Power System (UEPS) of Russia.
