Effects of additives on the dyeing of polyamide fibres. Part I: β-cyclodextrin

A series of 12 dyes were synthesised and used for the dyeing of nylon 6 and 6,6. β-Cyclodextrin was tested as a low environmental impact additive in dyeing processes. Interactions between dyes and β-cyclodextrin were studied by means of solubility isotherms, TGA and DTA analysis. β-Cyclodextrin show...

Description
Summary:A series of 12 dyes were synthesised and used for the dyeing of nylon 6 and 6,6. β-Cyclodextrin was tested as a low environmental impact additive in dyeing processes. Interactions between dyes and β-cyclodextrin were studied by means of solubility isotherms, TGA and DTA analysis. β-Cyclodextrin showed good levelling properties in the dyeing of polyamide fibres. The observed effect can be due to the formation of complexes between β-cyclodextrin and dyes.
