Summary:An intrinsic, age-related increase in response to warfarin has been suggested by several studies, but limitations in study design have precluded firm conclusions. To determine whether patient age is an independent determinant of anticoagulant response to warfarin therapy, investigators evaluated a large cohort (N = 530) of patients followed in a university hospital anticoagulation clinic over a 10-year period.
