Summary: | The paper discusses the problem of fissile material (FM) detection in passenger luggage. Different methods of control of unauthorized FM movement were analyzed. Application of differential die-away technique was substantiated. Experimental prototype with sensitivity of uranium-235 detection equal to 5 g during 5 s was described. A method for revealing deliberate FM masking by neutron-absorbing shields is suggested. |
