K-shell ionization cross sections by electron bombardment at low energies

Measurements have been made of the total cross sections for ionization of the K-shell by bombarding thin foil targets with 50 keV electrons from a gun in the case of the elements Ti, Cr, Ni and Cu. The corrections for electrons reflected by the substrate were performed using a bipartition model of e...

Description
Summary:Measurements have been made of the total cross sections for ionization of the K-shell by bombarding thin foil targets with 50 keV electrons from a gun in the case of the elements Ti, Cr, Ni and Cu. The corrections for electrons reflected by the substrate were performed using a bipartition model of electron transport. The results are compared with the theoretical calculations and the earlier experimental results.
