Description
Summary:The paper describes a new method for reduction of background counts in Liquid Scintillation Counting (LSC) using a simple circuit. With this circuit it was possible to reduce background counts in low level Tritium Counting to 8 cpm from an initial value of 18 cpm with a marginal degradation in detection efficiency. Use of the circuit can reduce the cost of passive shielding, which is generally used to reduce background counts to a low level.
