Surface acoustic wave propagation in Langmuir-Blodgett layers

The amplitude of surface acoustic wave (SAW) was monitored during the Langmuir-Blodgett deposition. This in-situ measurement enabled to detect the changes caused by superimposing individual monomolecular layers on LiNbO 3 crystal. The experimental dependence of the SAW-echo on the film thickness was...

Description
Summary:The amplitude of surface acoustic wave (SAW) was monitored during the Langmuir-Blodgett deposition. This in-situ measurement enabled to detect the changes caused by superimposing individual monomolecular layers on LiNbO 3 crystal. The experimental dependence of the SAW-echo on the film thickness was fitted by the theoretical curve derived from the model of SAW propagation at the thin layer-substrate interface.
