Formation of cobalt–molybdenum sulfides in hydrotreating catalysts: a surface science approach

Flat, electrically conducting models of Mo and CoMo sulfides on SiO 2 and Al 2O 3 have been very successful in elucidating the sulfidation chemistry of the oxidic catalyst precursors. In this paper, we show that the model approach enables industrially relevant preparation studies of alumina-supporte...

Description
Summary:Flat, electrically conducting models of Mo and CoMo sulfides on SiO 2 and Al 2O 3 have been very successful in elucidating the sulfidation chemistry of the oxidic catalyst precursors. In this paper, we show that the model approach enables industrially relevant preparation studies of alumina-supported CoMoS systems with catalytic turnover and selectivity similar to that of industrial HDS catalysts.
