Description
Summary:A magnetic circular dichroism (MCD) study of the Prussian Blue analogue, Mn[Mn(CN) 6], has been undertaken in order to investigate further the magnetic and optical properties of this material and determine the feasibility of MCD spectroscopy for the study of magnetically ordered solids. The temperature-dependent MCD magnetization behavior is consistent with ferrimagnetic long-range order below a Curie temperature of 4 K. Numerous bands have been assigned in the MCD spectrum, and the study indicates that the MCD technique is an excellent tool for determining the relationship between molecular level electronic structure and the magnetic properties of the bulk material.
