Description
Summary:The radio-frequency (RF) collapse of the magnetic hyperfine structure in the Mössbauer spectra is employed to study directly the short-range order (SRO) in amorphous Fe 93− x− y Zr 7B x Cu y alloys via the electric quadrupole hyperfine interaction. The shape of the quadrupole splitting distributions obtained from the RF collapsed spectra strongly suggest the existence of two SRO with a high and low local content of iron. The decrease of boron content leads to a more symmetric local structure experienced by the Fe atoms.
