Wavelet identification of vortex tubes in a turbulence velocity field
This Letter proposes a new method to identify vortex tubes in one-dimensional velocity data of experimental turbulence. From the Taylor vortex, an ideal model for the tube, we construct a continuous wavelet transformation, and demonstrate its usefulness in studying properties of the tubes.
