Summary: | In the Joint NEMA/COCIR/JIRA Security and Privacy Committee paper entitled, “Identification and Allocation of Basic Security Rules in Healthcare Imaging Systems” at (
http://www.nema.org/medical/spc, we identify a set of security and privacy rules. The paper presents a logical allocation of these rules that, if properly enforced, can help providers meet their legal obligations under HIPAA in the USA and similar regulations internationally. The SPC, whose membership includes medical imaging system manufacturers worldwide, shows which rules should been forced by technology and which ones need to be enforced by administrative procedures. |
