Quasi-two-dimensional conductivity in CePtSb and CePdSb

The strongly anisotropic resistivity, ϱ c / ϱ a = 13–16, was found in CePtSb and CePdSb and the La homologues. Tje carrier concentrations in the Ce compounds are less than 0.04/f.u. The specific heat of CePtSb reveals a magnetic transition at 6.8 K above the ferromagnetic transition at T C = 4.7 K....

Description
Summary:The strongly anisotropic resistivity, ϱ c / ϱ a = 13–16, was found in CePtSb and CePdSb and the La homologues. Tje carrier concentrations in the Ce compounds are less than 0.04/f.u. The specific heat of CePtSb reveals a magnetic transition at 6.8 K above the ferromagnetic transition at T C = 4.7 K. Furthermore, a distinct jump in C( T) is observed at T C = 17.5 K for CePdSb in addition to the broad anomaly at around 10 K previously reported.
