Summary:We investigated the vortex dynamics in type-II superconducting films with a pinning array by simulating equations of motion for vortices. The 2D vortex system in the presence of a pinning array exhibits complicated dynamic behavior dependent on the vortex–pin interaction and the relationship between the vortex lattice structure and pinning array. To analyze such complicated vortex dynamics, we have calculated the voltage noise due to the vortex motion for various situations. It is found that in the 2D system the critical current is sensitive to the period of a pinning array and depends on it. The noise power spectrum exhibits both broad and narrow band noise behavior only when vortices are pinned strongly.
