Description
Summary:The thermodynamics of two-dimensional Heisenberg ferro- and antiferromagnets with spin 1 2 on a triangular lattice is theoretically investigated. The employed method is formulated in terms of short-range order and does not imply long-range order in the system. The theory provides an analytical description of thermodynamic functions in the whole temperature region. The results are used to interpret experimental data on heat capacity and susceptibility of a 2D solid 3He layer adsorbed on graphite. It is shown that in the ferromagnetic regime the pure Heisenberg behavior of 2D solid 3He occurs and the theory is in excellent agreement with the experimental data at all temperatures.
