Description
Summary:As part of the standardisation of sub-kelvin temperature measurements across European national measurement institutes, the European ultralow temperature scale has been realised at NPL, using a 3He melting curve thermometer supplied by PTB, Berlin. The accuracy of the realisation of the melting pressure scale has been checked using a calibrated SRM 768 device. To improve confidence in the realisation, the melting curve thermometer was compared with CMN and nuclear orientation thermometers, and also with rhodium iron thermometers carrying original calibrations on the T X1 scale down to 0.4 K.
