Multisegment magnetoresistive sensor based on the GMR effect

We have developed a multiple magnetoresistive sensor as an alternative to a Hall sensor for use in mapping the magnetic field in the vicinity of a superconductor. Magnetoresistivity curves of 32 individual stripe sections have been measured in a parallel field at 77 K. The sensitivity and resolution...

Description
Summary:We have developed a multiple magnetoresistive sensor as an alternative to a Hall sensor for use in mapping the magnetic field in the vicinity of a superconductor. Magnetoresistivity curves of 32 individual stripe sections have been measured in a parallel field at 77 K. The sensitivity and resolution of the magnetic field of the sensor are evaluated. A brief comparison of the magnetoresistive sensor versus the Hall probe is given.
