Description
Summary:This paper concerns an adaptive boundary mesh for problems with nonlinear Robin-type boundary conditions such as thermal radiation using boundary element analysis. The local iteration scheme is used to solve the nonlinear system of equations arising from nonlinear boundary conditions. The local reanalysis, which measures approximately the sensitivity of the boundary element solution to local mesh changes, is employed for error estimation. The L 1-norm is used to measure both the local and global errors. To test the capability of the proposed scheme, an h-version mesh refinement strategy is described and applied to some two-dimensional thermal transfer problems having typical Robin-type boundary conditions. © 1997 Elsevier Science Limited.
