Description
Summary:Measurements of the macroscopic thermal neutron absorption cross section and slowing-down power were conducted on 75 specimens taken from the Main Dolomite and Zechstein Limestone formations as they occur in 10 prospect boreholes located in different regions of Polish Lowland. The specimens chosen for this study represented lagoonal, barrier and fore-barrier facies of Main Dolomite as well as barrier and reef facies of Zechstein Limestone. Slowing-down power measurements enabled the determination of water content in the solid phase of specimens. Histogram distribution functions for the macroscopic thermal neutron cross section and bound water content of analysed specimens are presented.
