Deprotonation of a ruthenium (II) complex incorporating a bipyrazole ligand leading to optical and electrochemical switching
The synthesis of a Ru(II) complex incorporating the 3,3′-bipyrazole (bpyz) ligand is reported. Deprotonation of the ligand leads to shifts in both the metal-to-ligand charge transfer (MLCT) band (80 nm) and the Ru III/II oxidation couple (> 750 mV ) of the complex.
