Description
Summary:The inhibitive action of grape pomace extracts against the corrosion of C-steel in a 1 mol L-1 HCl solution was investigated using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, potentiodynamic polarization curves, weight loss measurements and surface analysis. Hydroalcoholic extracts of grape pomace were analyzed in different concentrations and were found to act as effective corrosion inhibitors for the tested system. The inhibition efficiency increased with increasing extract concentration and decreased with temperature. The adsorption of components of the grape pomace extracts on the surface of the C-steel followed the Langmuir adsorption isotherm.
