Summary: | Using the method of stochastic variation of parameters in the logistic differential equation a stochastic logistic differential equation is obtained. For this stochastic differential equation, the first two conditional moments of the first-passage time are found. These results are applied in the study of the growth of cancerous tumors and in the study of the growth of the world population when a random perturbation is incorporated into the deterministic models. |
