Summary: | The preparation, structure and catalytic activity of a new type of glass fiber-supported Pt complex catalyst for hydrosilylation of styrene and triethylsilane are reported. Silanization of the glass fiber was carried out with methyldichlorosilane. 1,3,5,7-tetramethyl–1,3,5,7-tetravinylcyclotetrasiloxane (D4Vi) was anchored on the modified glass fiber through the hydrosilylation reaction mediated by a Pt(0)−D4Vi complex solution catalyst. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, field emission scanning electron microscopy, X-ray energy dispersion spectroscopy and thermogravimetric analysis provided evidences that D4Vi rings were covalently bonded onto the glass fiber surface. The catalytic activity of the complex catalyst was evaluated through the hydrosilylation reaction between styrene and triethylsilane. |
