Excess volume, speed of sound and isentropic compressibility data of ternary mixtures containing N-methylcyclohexylamine, p-xylene and (C3-C5) 1-alkanols

Excess volume (VE123) and speed of sound (u123) data of three ternary mixtures of N-methylcyclohexylamine (NMC) (1) + p-xylene (2) + 1-alkanols (C3-C5) were determined as a function of composition at 303.15 K and atmospheric pressure. From the measured data, isentropic compressibility (ks123), devia...

Description
Summary:Excess volume (VE123) and speed of sound (u123) data of three ternary mixtures of N-methylcyclohexylamine (NMC) (1) + p-xylene (2) + 1-alkanols (C3-C5) were determined as a function of composition at 303.15 K and atmospheric pressure. From the measured data, isentropic compressibility (ks123), deviation in isentropic compressibility (ks'123) and the quantity ∆ks123, the difference between measured value and that of computed from the constituent binary data were derived. The VE123 data of all the mixtures were analyzed in terms of different theoretical models. The experimental and predicted results indicate that the theoretical expressions give good estimation of the derived functions for the studied ternary systems. The excess and deviation properties were discussed in terms of intermolecular interactions prevailing between component molecules in the liquid mixtures. [Display omitted]
