Summary: | A series of novel composite solid electrolyte was prepared and characterized by various techniques such as X-ray diffraction, differential thermal analysis and scanning electron microscopy. The AC impedance spectroscopy revealed that the ionic conductivity was arisen by the simultaneous contribution of both the grain and grain boundary effects. The ionic conductivity of the composite was boost up in the low temperature phase (β phase) with the increase of x. The composition x=0.3 shows the maximum conductivity σ=0.00065Scm−1 at 30°C as compared to the other compositions. The temperature dependent conductivity and dielectric constant shows the sharp increase at 423K due to the β→α phase transition of AgI. The value of dielectric constant was increased with increase in temperature and it decreases with increase in frequency. The modulus value shows the increasing trend irrespective of increasing applied frequency. |
