Summary: | In this study, 3D printable organic-inorganic resins were developed using glycerol dimethacrylate, which can be synthesised from glycerol obtained as a by-product of the biodiesel production process, and wollastonite synthesised from reagent-grade materials, the by-product of the aluminium fluoride manufacturing process, silica gel waste or natural rock. The developed recyclable waste-based material was proven to be compatible with the widely available desktop DLP 3D PICO2 39 printer. It allowed straightforward additive manufacturing of true 3D structures with sub-millimetre spatial definition using standard printing parameters. This opens the way for the production of inorganic objects from reusable industrial waste. |
