Summary: | To meet the low-temperature requirements of the ZrO2-Mg bonding system, we utilize the ultrasonic diffusion bonding to fabricate YSZ-AZ31B heterogeneous joint. This method has advantages of remarkable efficiency and cost-effectiveness because of the short time (within 8 s), low temperature (200 °C) and cheap filler (Al interlayer) used in the bonding process. The shear strength of the joints reaches 39.4 MPa. It is observed that the amorphous Al2O3 and Al12Mg17+α-Mg form at Al/YSZ and Al/AZ31B interfaces, respectively. Further, the joint bonding mechanism under the ultrasonic action is elucidated. |
