Dielectric regulation of ultralight EG/bimetallic sulfide hybrids with boosted electromagnetic wave absorption properties
In this work, the expandable graphite (EG) /bimetallic sulfide hybrids are synthesized by in-situ hydrothermal self-assembly and sulfur atmosphere vapor deposition. The structural modulation, dielectric modulation, and the regulation of electromagnetic wave absorption (EMA) properties of these hybri...

description | In this work, the expandable graphite (EG) /bimetallic sulfide hybrids are synthesized by in-situ hydrothermal self-assembly and sulfur atmosphere vapor deposition. The structural modulation, dielectric modulation, and the regulation of electromagnetic wave absorption (EMA) properties of these hybrids are discussed. Among these samples, the EG/Zn–Co–S needle (EZCS-N) has multiple active sites and large specific surface areas due to the multi-needle sulfides and multi-layered EG, resulting in high dielectric parameters. At an ultra-low filling ratio of 7 wt%, EZCS-N achieves a minimum reflection loss of −53.47 dB at 2.5 mm, and an effective absorption bandwidth of 5.32 GHz at 1.8 mm. The dielectric parameters and the EMA performance of these hybrids are well regulated by tuning the microstructure, which facilitates the design and optimization of the EMA properties of absorbers and enriches the electromagnetic wave loss mechanisms.
[Display omitted]
•The dielectric parameters and the EMA performance of these hybrids are well regulated by tuning the microstructure.•The influence pattern and mechanism of morphology modulation was explored and the optimization of the EMA properties was achieved.•A minimum reflection loss of −53.47 dB at 2.5 mm, and an effective absorption bandwidth of 5.32 GHz at 1.8 mm were achieved. |
