Summary: | Traditional single-function anticorrosion coatings have been unable to meet the needs for long-term protection in harsh marine environments. Therefore, developing excellent multifunctional protection coatings is essential for prolonging the service life of marine industry materials. Herein, a stable multifunctional linkage anticorrosion composite coating SC/SFPani@Zn was successfully constructed by loading the magic box (SFPani: fluorinated polyaniline doped with p-toluenesulfonic acid) and active factor (Zn2+) onto the surface of sericite (SC). The SC sheet weakens the easy self-agglomeration problem of polyaniline, improves the interfacial compatibility between the filler and the resin matrix, and enhances the barrier properties of the coating. More importantly, the functional role of “magic box” and “active factor” not only enhance the shielding performance of the coating but also endows the coating with good corrosion inhibition performance and functional response protection. The 3D hydrophobic network and multifunctional linkage protection system gives the SC/SFPani@Zn coating excellent long-term corrosion resistance in harsh seawater as compared to conventional epoxy coatings. Therefore, it is believed that this work not only reflects the application potential of SC/SFPani@Zn as long-term anticorrosive material but also provides a new idea for the design of protective coatings for marine building materials.
