Summary: | A new species of the fossil wood genus Ginkgoxylon (Ginkgoales), Ginkgoxylon arcticum sp. nov., is described from the Lower Cretaceous deposits of Alexandra Land Island, Franz Josef Land Archipelago, Russia. The record of Ginkgoxylon represents the latest stratigraphic occurrence of this taxon in Russia and the first and only one from the Arctic region.
