Description
Summary:A new snakefly specimen, identified as Mesoraphidia amoena (Raphidioptera: Raphidiomorpha: Mesoraphidiidae), is discovered from the Lower Cretaceous Laiyang Formation of Shandong Province, China. M. amoena was previously only known from the Lower Cretaceous Yixian Formation in western Liaoning Province, China. The discovery of M. amoena from Laiyang Formation further confirms the close relationship between these two formations. The fossil record of Mesoraphidia and its palaeogeographic distribution are also summarized.
