Summary:Good thermal performance of a green roof depends on the good condition of the materials in it. Here is presented a guide that vegetation must have to meet the strict requirements demanded by green roof extensive and semi extensive in the Metropolitan Area of Mexico City, when installed with this purpose. It also provides a list of species that survive under low maintenance deployed on a green roof capable to remain stable and densely covered. In a more extensive scope, are also taken into account the demands between the climate, the building, and the vegetation.
