Summary:In this research paper, higher order discrete systems are approximated into lower order discrete systems with the help of proposed model order reduction technique. This order reduction includes cross multiplication of polynomials process and using the Genetic Algorithm at the tail end of approximation process. The approximation process will be carried out in continuous system equivalent of given higher order discrete system. The proposed model order reduction method is applied for the third order lattice ladder Infinite Impulse Response filter structure to deduce the structural elements. The results are computed with MATLAB and the validity of the proposed model order reduction is likened with some known order reduction methods existing in the literature.
