Summary: | Abstract Localized, left-sided portal hypertension, also known as sinistral portal hypertension, is a rare entity most commonly seen as a result of splenic vein thrombosis. Aneurysms of the portal venous system usually occur either at the hilum or at the splenomesenteric confluence. Aneurysms of portal venous collaterals are rare, and pseudoaneurysms have not been described. We report the case of an elderly woman with asymptomatic sinistral hypertension who developed a pseudoaneurysm of a splenorenal shunt following blunt trauma. |
