Summary: | •We work on the location of battery trucks•Management of battery operation modes is suggested to optimize the available energy use.•We optimize the operation modes to reduce generation deficit•We consider a multi-microgrid to enhance the survival time of disconnection.
The interruption of electric power systems may occur either by a network fault or a disconnection, caused by overloads or security measures to prevent significant damage. The consequence is some essential services suspended during the disconnection period. Distributed generation (DG) enables meeting all or part of this demand through photovoltaic generation, energy accumulators or generator sets. Besides local control and communication, these devices yield the advent of microgrids that have the autonomy to manage their generation and to prioritize loads locally. In this scenario, batteries play an essential role. This work proposes a strategy to maximize the demand's supply for islanded systems. For this purpose, an optimal strategy to create islands within the islanded microgrid is proposed in a dynamic manner, so that different islands configurations are created as time evolves. Mobile batteries placed on trucks are also considered. The interaction among the location of mobile batteries, switching of loads, and state of switches are addressed to reach this objective. |
