The current development of the energy storage industry in Taiwan: A snapshot

Energy storage systems can increase peak power supply, reduce standby capacity, and have other multiple benefits along with the function of peak shaving and valley filling. Advanced countries throughout the globe have begun to list energy storage as a key development industry. This research is qualitative, not quantitative research, and focuses on “energy storage” as being among the 4 main axes of energy creation, energy saving, energy storage, and smart system integration. First, this research describes the 5 categories of energy storage systems. Second, it describes the development of the energy storage industry. It is estimated that from 2022 to 2030, the global energy storage market will increase by an average of 30.43 % per year, and the Taiwanese energy storage market will increase by an average of 62.42 % per year. Third, it discusses the regulations and policies of the Taiwanese government to promote the energy storage industry, and as well, it analyzes the current situation.
