Description
Summary:To alleviate the contradiction between the increasing uncertainty of the power generation and consumption sides of the grid and the insufficient reserve of flexible and adjustable resources, the virtual hybrid energy storage system (VHES) is constructed. It is a virtual system built on bidirectional adjustable loads (BAL) and bidirectional adjustable storage (BAS). VHES is created by analyzing the equivalent or actual bi-directional power adjustable characteristics of BAL and BAS to regulate the power and energy balance of the grid. Then, a two-stage optimal configuration and control method for VHES is proposed. It combines different time scale optimization to give full play to the role of VHES and improves the economy of its application as much as possible. The effectiveness of the method and the effect of VHES are verified by cases, and then the influence of the allocation ratio of BAL and BAS on the effect is explored. The result shows that the requirement capacity for BAS in VHES reduces by 38.65 % compared to case B, and the BAS utilization increases to 49.52 %. •The regulatory characteristics of bidirectional adjustable loads are analyzed.•The hybrid virtual energy storage model is built.•The two-stage optimal method combines the day-ahead and intraday stages is proposed.•The hybrid virtual energy storage focuses on multi-time scale regulation.•The proposed method can reduce the demand and improve the utilization of energy storage.
