Genetic polymorphism of 125 Y-SNPs in Han population from Shandong province, China
Y chromosome haplogroups have been widely used to infer paternal bio-geographical ancestry. In this study, a total of 92 Han male subjects from the city of Dezhou in Shandong province were genotyped by the 125 Y-SNP markers including 89 sub-haplogroups of O-M175 haplogroup. The haplogroup diversity...

Summary: | Y chromosome haplogroups have been widely used to infer paternal bio-geographical ancestry. In this study, a total of 92 Han male subjects from the city of Dezhou in Shandong province were genotyped by the 125 Y-SNP markers including 89 sub-haplogroups of O-M175 haplogroup. The haplogroup diversity reached 0.9140 and 21 terminal haplogroups were observed. O-M175 haplogroup (n = 65, 70.65%) was the most predominant haplogroup, and the second largest haplogroup was C-M130 (n = 13, 14.13%). The samples belonging to O-M175 haplogroup were further divided into 13 sub-haplogroups. The results demonstrated that the multiplex Y-SNP typing system showed high polymorphism in the Han population from Dezhou in Shandong province, China. |
