Summary: | An electrical resistance tomography (ERT) system is used to measure the mixing of two miscible liquids. A data analysis method to monitor and measure the mixing process is proposed. On the basis of the reconstructed pixel conductivity data obtained from multi-plane ERT sensors, the mixing time can be measured and the best-correlated pairs of pixels are identified to determine the dispersion velocity of the secondary liquid in the primary liquid as well. Experimental results for the mixing of liquids in a stirred tank are presented. |
