Description
Summary:A method is introduced whereby implant recipients can search over a large number of speech processor MAPs to identify one(s) they prefer. Using the genetic algorithm (GA), the method searches over multiple MAP parameters simultaneously, rather than over each parameter individually. The method can include as many as 8000 MAPs without significantly increasing search time or degrading search performance. Results are presented for five recipients who used the method to design a speech processor MAP from among 256 options.
